Patriot Training and Consulting and Common Man Training (CMT) are teaming up again to bring you the next in our series of defensive handgun classes, Defensive Handgun 201 and Defensive Handgun 202 courses, combining decades of practical shooting experience and knowledge.

Defensive Handgun 201: This course is for beginning handgun shooters and those who want to improve their practical defensive handgun skills. This course builds upon the foundational concepts and techniques covered in our Intro to Defensive Handgun 101 and 102 classes, focusing on the safe, efficient presentation (draw) of the handgun from the holster.
We will also cover important skills such as effective engagement sequencing and reloading, with practical application drills from the standing position from 3-15 yards.
You will be challenged while enjoying the experience of building confidence and skill with your handgun.

Pre-requisite: Defensive Handgun 102 or validated equivalent.

  • A review of Firearms Safety and Range Safety Rules
  • A review of Marksmanship Fundamentals
  • Handgun Presentations
  • In-Battery Reloads
  • Presenting with the Dominant (Primary) Hand Only
  • Handgun Shooting Drills

Defensive Handgun 202: This course is for beginning handgun shooters and those who want to improve their practical defensive handgun skills. This course builds upon the concepts and techniques covered in our Defensive Handgun 201 class, improving on your ability to present the pistol quickly and safely from the holster, while introducing mental elements of practical defensive shooting.
You will also learn and practice how to recognize and clear common semi-auto handgun malfunctions efficiently, while engaging human threats out to 15 yards.
Handgun drills will demand faster execution at higher accuracy standard and greater distances than previous classes.
Prepare to challenge yourself while increasing your skill level and having fun doing it.

Patriot Training and Consulting and Common Man Training have teamed up to bring this carefully blended two-class training day to those who want to advance further build their confident in the use of a defensive handgun. This course is designed in a progressive format that allows you to expand your skills at a comfortable pace. The course fee includes all instruction, targets, pasties, and other additional course materials and INCLUDES a $25 Range Fee. *Students should bring an appropriate handgun (true micro-compacts such as the Ruger LCP not allowed) . If needed, handgun rentals are available for $25, which includes a holster, mag pouch and 2-3 magazines. PPE, holsters and pouches for non-rented firearms may also be available in limited quantities for loan. Appropriate factory-loaded or factory re-loaded ball ammunition may be purchased from the instructor (when available) for an additional fee or brought to class by the student. VALID PHOTO IDENTIFICATION IS REQUIRED TO ATTEND ALL FIREARMS COURSES.
